DIVING FOR PLC SYDNEY AND EXTERNAL STUDENTS
PLC Sydney Diving Program
The aims of the PLC Sydney College and associated PLC Sydney programs are translated into operational policies through the spirit of the respect for others general statement.
The Bible encourages all of us to treat others in the same way that we would like them to treat us.
When this is our attitude, we help to create a community where everyone can enjoy safety, security, cooperative learning and freedom from all forms of harassment.
This is the kind of community we foster at PLC Sydney and each person has an important part to play in maintaining it.
All members of the College community are expected to relate to one another in ways that will ensure that every person is able to:
- Be respected and valued as an individual
- Feel safe and secure
- Be free to work and learn in a positive environment
- Be treated fairly
- Be free from bullying
- Have his/her privacy and property respected
- Feel free to seek and accept appropriate help and support when it is needed.
Divers Code of Conduct
.The College considers that behavior which does not demonstrate respect for these basic needs and freedoms of others is unacceptable.
As a member of the PLC Sydney Diving Program we ask that you read and adhere to the following rules.
- Respect the rights, dignity and worth of fellow gymnasts, coaches, officials and spectators.
- Do not tolerate acts of aggression.
- Respect the talent, potential and development of fellow gymnasts and competitors.
- Care for and respect the equipment provided to you as part of your program.
- Be frank and honest with your coach concerning illness and injury and your ability to train fully within the program requirements.
- At all times avoid close personal relationships with your coach.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner relating to language, temper and punctuality.

- Cooperate with coaches and staff in development of programs to adequately prepare you for competition at the highest level.
Parents Code of Behaviour
As a parent/guardian of a child who is a member of the PLC Sydney Diving Program we ask that you read and adhere to the following rules.
- Respect the rights, dignity and worth of others
- Remember that your child participates in sport for their own enjoyment, not yours
- Focus on your child’s efforts and performance rather than winning or losing.
- Show appreciation for good performance by all gymnasts, including gymnasts from other teams.
- Demonstate a high degree of individual responsibility, as your words and actions are an example.
- Respect officials’ decisions and teach children to do likewise.
- Only speak with respect and care to people associated with the sport (e.g., player, judge, coach).
- Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
- Be a positive role model
- Poor behaviour by a parent damages the sport for all participants. Parents are role models in the ways that they solve problems. Resolve points of conflict with a generous and positive spirit.

Injury, Illness and Make Up Lesson Policy
Illness and Makeup Lessons: Please let us know as soon as possible if your child is going to be away so we can mark them as absent and eligible for a make up lesson. Whilst we understand that sometimes last-minute absences can't be avoided (e.g. child comes home sick from school, or the car won't start when you try to leave for class), we appreciate at least two hours' notice for an absence. It gives us a better chance to fill your spot with a makeup for another child.
Make up lessons are not guaranteed but may be available by booking through Michelle Olsson, and are dependent on availability. Make-up classes must be taken within the current term. A maximum of two make-up lessons may be taken in any term. No refund is given for missed lessons.
Injury: If a child is injured resulting in missed lessons, these missed lessons will be credited to a time when the child is fit to return to class. This may be carried over into the following terms but placement back into the current class is not guaranteed.
